Lyd in Six Days
Audio Documentary
“Why did we forget Lydd?”
One of the oldest and most significant Palestinian cities, Lydd has been gradually pushed out of collective visibility، known deeply by its own people, yet rarely present in the wider Palestinian narrative.
On May 10th, 2021, the city’s residents joined demonstrations in solidarity with Jerusalem, Sheikh Jarrah, and Al-Aqsa. What followed marked a turning point in Lydd’s recent history, as the city came under intensified military control and escalating settler violence.
In this 43-minute audio documentary, filmmaker and podcast creator Aida Kaadan traces Lydd across six days: unfolding a layered timeline that reconstructs events, memory, and erasure. The episode asks urgent questions: why has Lydd been so absent from dominant Palestinian narratives? How was it systematically marginalized, and what has kept it at the edges of our collective attention?
