The 7th Art Club
Community film programming founded and led by Aida Kaadan
The 7th Art Club is an independent, community-driven film initiative founded by Aida Kaadan in Haifa, Palestine. It was created to bring Palestinian audiences closer to cinema in a way that feels accessible, relevant, and rooted in their lived realities. What began as a local effort has grown into a cross-city platform, with screenings taking place across five Palestinian cities, creating a shared cultural space that moves beyond geographic and social fragmentation.
The club curates a diverse program of Arab and international films, ranging from classics to contemporary works, that engage with questions of de-colonial identity, history, resistance, and everyday life.
Operating independently, the 7th Art Club prioritizes accessibility and community over exclusivity. It creates welcoming environments for audiences of all ages and backgrounds, many of whom may not typically have access to curated cinematic programming. Through collaborations with Palestinian local venues and cultural spaces, the club has built a growing network that sustains regular screenings and conversations across Palestinian communities within the 1948 borders.
Through its programming, the 7th Art Club aspires to cultivate a living, evolving archive of cinematic encounters that reflect the complexities, urgencies, and imaginations of the communities it serves.
